Lasberg is a market town in Upper Austria in the district of Freistadt in the Mühlviertel with 2886 inhabitants. Lasberg lies at an altitude of 574 m in the Mühlviertel.
Lasberg was first mentioned in a deed of donation in 1125. Since 1918, the village has belonged to the federal state of Upper Austria and this
ended the period of prosperity in Lasberg.
Culture and sights
Dornach castle ruins: First mentioned in a document around 1416 as the fortress of Hans Lasberger and renovated in 1963.
Former Lasberg Castle
Dornachhof: A dairy farm closely associated with Dornach Castle, today called Hartmayergut. Owned by the Blöchl family (Johann Blöchl) since 1848.
Lasberg St. Vitus Catholic Parish Church: A church that was extended in the 14th century. A Romanesque building which was extended in Gothic style.
Bürgerspital: Foundation house for the sick and poor citizens of the market town.
Hoh-Haus am Buchberg: A lookout tower on the Buchberg (813 m) with a view of the Mühlviertel region
