Grünbach is a municipality in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel in the district of Freistadt with 1872 inhabitants. Grünbach lies at 720 m above sea level. 
of Didis Höhe with 931.56 m on April 26, 2022, the Heinrichschläger Berg with 928 m was considered the highest elevation in the municipality. 1270 to 1286 is the 
first mention of Grinpach, 

Culture and sights

Grünbach St. Nicholas Catholic parish church: The parish church was expanded into a late Gothic hall church in 1511. The richly decorated south gate dates from around 1512. 
The early Gothic chancel of the church with its ribbed vault is much older. The tower has a Gothic wedge roof.

St. Michael ob Rauchenödt: The filial church of St. Michael is one of the most famous cultural monuments in the Mühlviertel. The Gothic interior has a 
vault and a Gothic winged altar, created around 1517
