St. Oswald bei Freistadt (also Sankt Oswald bei Freistadt) is a market town in Upper Austria in the district of Freistadt in the Mühlviertel. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Freistadt.

Culture and sights

    Catholic parish church of St. Oswald bei Freistadt: Gothic church from the 14th century, which is located slightly away from the town center
    Marktturm: the symbol of the village, the old tower is depicted in the coat of arms.
    Maria Bründl Chapel: late baroque chapel from the 17th century.
    Distillery Museum (Schnapps Museum): A distillery in operation since 1883 was converted into a museum in 1983.
    Open-air museum Ledermühle: The Ledermühle is the last remaining of originally eight mills in the municipal area of St. Oswald. It was first mentioned in a document around 1413 and was in operation until 1967.
    Museum Kirchenhäusl: The former Bürgerspital was established in 1614. The present building dates from 1761 and was used for ecclesiastical social services.
