Culture and sights
Weinberg Castle: The castle is a fortress-like castle building, which was built in the 16th and 17th centuries (late Renaissance). At the end of the war in 1945, the valuable castle furnishings were lost. Today the castle houses a regional education center.
Catholic Parish Church of Kefermarkt St. Wolfgang with the Kefermarkt Winged Altar: The church of the parish of Kefermarkt, consecrated in 1476, houses the Kefermarkt Winged Altar, one of the major works of Gothic art in the German-speaking world. It was created between 1490 and 1497 by a carver whose name is no longer known, the so-called Master of the Kefermarkt Altar. With a height of over 13 meters, the work is one of the largest preserved carved altars of the German late Gothic period. Adalbert Stifter led the first restoration of the altar between 1852 and 1855 in his function as the regional conservator in Upper Austria. Stifter saved this altar from decay through a comprehensive renovation.
Pendulum nature trail: On the approximately one kilometer long hiking trail, the places of power (water veins, etc.) can be determined and guessed by means of pendulums or rods.
