Engerwitzdorf is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Urfahr-Umgebung in the lower Mühlviertel. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Urfahr.
The originally purely rural community around Gallneukirchen has no actual core village, it is composed of 30 scattered settlements. Only a small part of the inhabitants live in the village that gives it its name. Due to its proximity to Linz and its attractive location, Engerwitzdorf is one of the fastest growing communities in Austria. In Schweinbach and Mittertreffling, two cores with denser development and corresponding infrastructure (schools, shopping centers and others) have formed; otherwise, single-family homes and traditional rural villages predominate. Large parts of the municipality are still dominated by agriculture and forestry.

The Ägidikirchlein on the Hohenstein was built in the 13th century on a high rock pulpit and was originally probably part of a castle that had already been destroyed in the 14th century.
In the village of Gratz there are the strongly abraded remains of a ring fortification, from which the name of the village is derived (Slavic "grad" or "hradec" = castle).
