Villa Falkenhorst: Villa Falkenhorst was built in 1836/37 by industrialist John Douglass. The villa is architecturally based on the form of the simple English country house - in the style of villa buildings of the Italian Renaissance.
In 1838 the estate was bought by Lady Margarethe Jane Douglass and in 1891 it passed to her grandson John William Douglass.
Rudolf Kastner, a textile manufacturer, purchased the factory and villa in 1909. In 1985 the factory site and in 1997 also the villa with the surrounding park were finally acquired by the municipality of Thuringia.
