Fraxern is a municipality in Austria in Vorarlberg in the district of Feldkirch. Fraxern is located in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the district of Feldkirch at an altitude of 817 meters.

Culture and sights

Parish church Fraxern: There was a chapel and parish mentioned in documents in 1502. In place of the 17th century church, a new building was erected between 1900 and 1911 by Anton Wilhelm and Michael Keckeis together with the master carpenter Simon Ebenhoch.

Fraxern Family Chapel: Near the road from Weiler to Fraxern, in an idyllic location, stands since 2010 a modern family chapel, designed by architects Walter Klasz and Georg Kleeberger, inside with a painting by Katharina Kiechl. Outside with space to linger and play. The chapel is supported by a chapel association and is popularly called Kappele. An old chapel on the same site was demolished in 1971.
