Schlins is a municipality of Walgau in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Schlins is located north (right) of the Ill River in the district of Feldkirch on the northern edge of Walgau at 502 m above sea level below the Jagdberg ruins. The Giesenbach flows through the southern municipal area.

Culture and sights

The parish church of Our Lady Immaculate Conception was already a Hilarius church around 821 and around 940 the Ecclesia S. Michaelis in Sline et capella S. Mariae. The present church was consecrated in 1699 and restored in 1781, 1887, 1959 and 1992. In 1963 and 1987 the exterior was restored.
The chapel of St. Anne in Frommengärsch was built before 1500 and consecrated in 1512.
Chapel of St. John Bosco: The chapel was built in 1927 according to the plan of Willibald Braun in the Jagdberg Regional Special School.
Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary: The chapel in Jupident was built in 1963. It has a hall with a flat-vaulted wooden ceiling and concrete glass windows and various murals by the Schruns artist Konrad Honold.
The ruins of Jagdberg Castle were probably built in the 12th century. It served as the central castle of the Counts of Montfort-Feldkirch or Feldkirch-Tosters for the dominion in the Vorderen Walgau, which became independent from the county of Feldkirch at the end of the 13th century. The interior of the Palas has been used as an open-air theater since 1949.
Landessonderschule Jagdberg: In 1908, the ruined grounds were incorporated into the educational home and today's Landesjugendheim Jagdberg by constructing a swimming pool in the castle courtyard. The building was extended in 1927 according to plans by Willibald Braun.
