The district town of Deutschlandsberg - in the heart of Western Styria - surrounded by vineyards, meadows and forests, covers an area of 179 km2 and is home to around 11,600 inhabitants.
Our town with its six districts Bad Gams, Deutschlandsberg, Freiland, Kloster, Osterwitz and Trahütten stands for a location quality that is rarely found today. The old town, which is well worth seeing, the castle museum "Archeo Norico", a rare variety of cultural and educational institutions combined with optimal conditions for trade, industry and commerce also distinguish Deutschlandsberg.

The surroundings of the city are called "Schilcherland". It is known for its mild climate and for the fact that the "Schilcher", the wine from the "Blaue Wildbacher" vine, thrives particularly well here. Well-known specialties of the region are furthermore the pumpkin seed oil and in autumn the tasty sweet chestnuts for the "Schilchersturm".
