Wildon (stressed on the second, long pronounced syllable) is a market town in southern Styria and belongs to the district of Leibnitz. The market town is located on the Wildoner Berg, which borders the Leibnitzer Feld, directly at the mouth of the Kainach into the Mur. Wildon lies on both sides of the Mur at the transition between Grazer Feld in the north and Leibnitzer Feld in the south. 

Culture and sights

    Wildon together with the municipalities of Hengsberg, Lang and Lebring-St. Margarethen form the small region "Kulturpark Hengist" since 2009.

Due to its proximity to the district town of Leibnitz (approx. 15 km) and to the provincial capital of Graz (approx. 25 km), as well as its very good connections to the public transport network, Wildon is a constantly growing residential community with a well-developed infrastructure. 
Kindergartens, elementary school, secondary school and the Herrand-von-Wildon music school are the basis for a good education of our youth.  Doctors, pharmacy, rescue base, police inspection and fire departments provide a safe living environment.  Retirement homes, assisted living, home health care and meals on wheels give the elderly the support they need to maintain their quality of life when needed.
The recreational area of Wildon Lake, the Schlossberg, various sports facilities (archery, soccer, tennis, curling), the Hengist cultural hiking trail, the Herrand-von-Wildon literature trail and the R2 bike path along the Mura River invite outdoor activities.
