Sankt Georgen an der Stiefing is a market town with 1591 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in the district of Leibnitz in the Austrian state of
Styria. Since January 2015, as part of the municipal reform, it has been expanded to include the cadastral municipality of Hart as well as some additional plots of land from the previously
previously existing municipality of Stocking. Sankt Georgen an der Stiefing is located east of the Mur on the north-eastern edge of the Leibnitzer Feld in Styria.
The parish church was mentioned in documents as early as 1147. It forms an architectural ensemble with the castle.
