Neumarkt in der Steiermark is a municipality in the district of Murau in Styria since the beginning of 2015. It was created as part of the municipal structural reform in Styria from the formerly independent municipalities of Dürnstein in Styria, Neumarkt in Styria, Kulm am Zirbitz, Mariahof, Perchau am Sattel, Sankt Marein bei Neumarkt and Zeutschach. Neumarkt in Styria is located at the lowest pass between Styria and Carinthia, the Neumarkter Sattel (894 m), which is also used by the southern railroad.
