Micheldorf is a municipality in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia. The municipality is located south of the town of Friesach in the southern Friesacher Feld on the Metnitz River.

Culture and sights

    The parish church of St. Vitus in Micheldorf, mentioned in documents in 784/785, is a medium-sized building, originally Romanesque in the nave, which was altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. The tower on the west side in Gothic style is marked with the year 1447.
    The Filial Church of St. Lawrence on the Lorenzenberg, first mentioned in a document in 1043, is an early Gothic building erected on a rock cone.
    A blast furnace built in 1806 has been preserved from the ironworks in Hirt, which closed in 1873.
