Tieschen is located in the middle of the "Südoststeirischen Wein- und Thermenland" at the foot of the Königsberg. A settlement of the 462 m high Königsberg existed already 3.000 B.C., which also served as a place of refuge during attacks.

The affectionate reorganization of the place was distinguished with the place renewal price 2000 of the country Styria and the special price for the "most beautiful place crossing" in the context of the national flower decoration competition 2004. Likewise, the market town of Tieschen received 1st place in the 2011 GemeindeSam competition for the most child- and youth-friendly community. The parish church of the Holy Trinity and the tumuli in the Größinger Tanner are also considered worth seeing.

The favorable climate and the good location are the best conditions for our excellent wines. To learn about different cultures of the vineyards, you can take a short hike along the wine trail.

 

Tieschen is a market town in the southeast of Styria. It is located in the judicial district of Feldbach or district of southeast Styria.

The municipal coat of arms awarded on 24 September 1962

in a shield divided by silver and green a red prehistoric fire buck in the upper, a golden grape in the lower field refers to the discovery - in 1952 by local historian Alois Eberhard - of the fire buck of Tieschen, a clay figure from the prehistoric settlement, as well as viticulture.
