Gasen is a municipality with 861 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in the district of Weiz in the Austrian state of Styria. The nature park municipality of Gasen
is located in the Almenland Teichalm-Sommeralm region in Eastern Styria. The municipal area comprises the upper valley of the Gasenbach, a right tributary
of the Lafnitz. The earliest written record is from 1324 and reads "Gezen". The name goes back to the Slavic jesen (ash tree). However, a road from the Roman period
