Fladnitz an der Teichalm is a municipality with 1,803 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in Styria. As part of the reform of the municipal structure in
Styria, it was merged with the municipalities of Tulwitz and Tyrnau in 2015 to form the new municipality of Fladnitz an der Teichalm.
The boundaries of the districts of Graz-Umgebung and Weiz were changed so that the new municipality lies entirely within the district of Weiz. Fladnitz an der Teichalm
is located in the district of Weiz in the Austrian province of Styria, in the Passailer Becken of the Grazer Bergland, and in the Almenland region.
The place names Fladnitz bei Passail and Fladnitz an der Teichalpe were combined in 1977 to form the current municipality of Fladnitz an der Teichalm.
Culture and sights
Fladnitz an der Teichalm parish church: The late Gothic parish church of St. Nicholas is believed to have been built from 1483. This date is inscribed on a
Gothic rib at the altar of the Sorrowful Mother. In 1736, the sculptor Philipp Jakob Straub created the high altar. The high altarpiece
of St. Nicholas was painted by Johann Veit Hauck.
