The parish church of Straß (built as a castle church in the 17th century by Prince Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg, laying of the foundation stone on September 9, 1626 by the Prince-Bishop of Seckau, Jakob I. Eberlein; consecration on October 28, 1629).

The recreation center with a hall and sports field offers the possibility to practice trend sports like beach volleyball and skating as well as several asphalt lanes for curling (two lanes in the hall).
In winter you can go ice skating and curling on the asphalt court.
The tennis club of Straß rents two tennis courts near the main school during the non-playing periods.
The training ground of the Strass sports club is available for ball games during the non-training periods.
Regular events
Every year on December 5th the Krampuslauf takes place in Straß, where two Straßer Krampus groups ("Südsteirische Teufel" and "Schwarze Straßer Teufel") organize a joint hell-fight along the Straßer Krampusmeile. Likewise, carnival meetings take place every year.
The Garrison Festival, which takes place in the summer, is known throughout Styria.
