Raab. Eggersdorf dates back to a Roman settlement, as evidenced by the Roman burial mounds in Pircha and the Roman stones in Eggersdorf.
The Roman road, which still bears this name today, was the main connection between the Raabtal valley and the Mur valley. The village was given the name Eggersdorf by German settlers,
the name comes from the founder "Ekkehart" (village of Ekkerhard).
