Culture and sights
Obernberg marketplace: Worth seeing is the Obernberg marketplace with rococo stucco facades of the Schiffsmeister- (near Gurtentor), Apotheker- and Wörndlehaus from the hand of the Bavarian artist Johann Baptist Modler.
Heimathaus in the Gurtentor: was founded in 1927 at the suggestion of the chairman of the Verschönerungsverein, Josef Lang, and opened in 1931. After the end of the war and repair of a support beam damaged by an American crane truck, the house was expanded to 9 rooms in 1946. In 1980/81 a complete redesign and expansion to 10 show rooms took place.
Art house: An art house was opened in the castle area and theater events are held now and then by the Egglfing and Obernberg am Inn theaters in the newly designed garden area.
Catholic parish church Obernberg am Inn: The parish church was built in 1447 on the "Gottleichnamskapelle" (Corpus Christi chapel, today presbytery), it is therefore the only Catholic church in Austria with the title "Zum Heiligen Abendmahl". Remarkable is the Gothic wood carving "Anna Selbdritt" and the Anna Chapel with Gothic frescoes attached to the tower and nave (not freely accessible, incompletely uncovered). The altar figures on the pulpit and the triumphal arch are from the Schwanthaler workshop.
Nikolauskirche: In the church of St. Nicholas in the Vormarkt Ufer (Schifferkirche), the boatmen were once sent off to their dangerous journey. Now the church serves as an exhibition and concert hall and for special services (St. Nicholas Mass).
