Mettmach is a market town in Upper Austria in the district of Ried im Innkreis in the Innviertel region. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Ried im Innkreis.

Music

    Innviertler Symphony Orchestra - ISO. The Innviertler Symphonie Orchester is composed of up to 140 young musicians from different countries. Events are the New Year's concert and a summer concert each in Mettmach and Ried im Innkreis.
    Marktmusikkapelle Mettmach - MMKM: The market music band of the municipality of Mettmach has been an important cultural component for decades. Around 50 musicians organize various festivities, including a spring concert, and are very well received by the public.

    Two European yew trees stand at the sawmill entrance in Großweiffendorf.
    Mountain elm and ivy are in the garden of a house in Gartenstraße.
    The so-called Schlosslinde (small-leaved lime tree) stands about 30 m east of Schloss Hub.

Regular events

    Mettmach Passion Play: The village is known beyond the region above all for the Mettmach Passion Play - the only Passion Play venue in Upper Austria. This theater community was founded in 1947 by the war returnees Georg Vorhauer, Ernst Stranzinger and Josef Hager. In the beginning, various plays were performed, including Farmer Jedermann and Franzl. In 1950, on the advice of the local priest, the first Passion Play was performed in Mettmach. Since then, folk plays and the Passion Plays have been performed alternately. Plays are staged in a theater hall (converted granary) that can seat 600 people.
    Culture in Mettmach - KIMM: The events of the new cultural association in Mettmach, which regularly brings sophisticated cabarets to Mettmach, enjoy great popularity.
