Molln is an Austrian market town in the district of Kirchdorf in the Traunviertel region of Upper Austria.
Culture and sights
The pilgrimage church Frauenstein (after 1510) is known for the Schutzmantelmadonna attributed to Gregor Erhart. The German entertainer Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff is buried at the cemetery.
Molln Parish Church: The altarpiece with a communion scene is by Leopold Kupelwieser.
The baroque vicarage is the work of the Steyr master builder Johann Gotthard Hayberger. The two-and-a-half-story building, located diagonally opposite the parish church, was completed in 1734 and has been preserved essentially unchanged. The facade is structured by double pilasters and bands, above the main portal is the double coat of arms of Garsten Abbey and Abbot Konstantin Muttersgleich.
The chaplaincy church of St. Joseph in Innerbreitenau was built from 1952 and consecrated in 1956. The architect of the traditional building with onion tower is Hans Foschum.
The National Park Center, opened in 2001, is the headquarters of the Kalkalpen National Park Society. It is the largest wooden atrium building in Austria.
The art nouveau power station Steyrdurchbruch (Ramsau, Göritz 6) has been in existence since 1908. Technology and architecture have been largely preserved.
The Civic and Music Center (Marktstraße 1) was built in 2012 next to the old community center.
