The Museum Village Trattenbach was conceived in 1998 within the framework of the Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition Land of the Hammers - Heimat Eisenwurzen and has since been maintained by the Cultural Association Heimatpflege Ternberg - Trattenbach. On November 22, 2002, the museum village was awarded the Austrian Museum Quality Seal. The museum village with its original workshops and the museum in the Wegscheid is the central element for the illustration to the traditional production of the pocket feitel, which was distinguished in 2015 with the predicate Immaterial cultural heritage of the UNESCO. In the elementary school Trattenbach, built in 1906, which was closed down in 2013, an educational and cultural house has been established, where various courses are offered.
On September 8, 2019, the 28th Upper Austrian Ortsbildmesse was held in Ternberg.
