Welcome to Hofkirchen im Mühlkreis!
The tourist community Hofkirchen i.M. stretches from its high plateaus (approx. 700 m) over the steep slopes of the Ranna and Donauleiten to the Danube lowlands (approx. 200 m) at the natural wonder Schlögener Donauschlinge. In a worldwide unique way Hofkirchen i.M. presents itself as a labyrinth community.
The municipality is mainly characterized by the natural wonder Schlögender Donauschlinge, one of the most attractive sections of the Danube.
The baroque parish church, the town hall with its arcade and the historic village center are characteristic of Hofkirchen.
From the tower of the "Kerschbaumer Schlössl" (castle ruin Haichenbach) you can enjoy a breathtaking view into the Danube valley.
In addition to a wide range of sports facilities with the Top-Spin leisure center (3 indoor tennis courts, 2 outdoor tennis courts, fitness studio), a solar-heated outdoor swimming pool, you will find an excellently marked network of hiking trails, which is connected to the long-distance hiking trail network (Donausteig). From the natural harbor Freizell you can explore the Danube on your own with a zille.
The proverbial hospitality of the Mühlviertel awaits you in the tourist community of Hofkirchen i.M.

Culture and sights
There are 15 listed immovable objects in Hofkirchen, and the municipality is rich in ruins, castles and palaces. The castle ruin Falkenstein is a former, large castle above the Ranna valley, which was already mentioned in documents in the middle of the 12th century. The Haichenbach castle ruin was also first mentioned in documents in the middle of the 12th century. It is located above the Schlögener Schlinge and offers a wide distant view from the castle tower. In contrast to the two ruins, Marsbach Castle is still preserved. It lies on a steep slope to the left side of the Danube and has been documented since 1075. Freizell Castle is a complex dating back to the late Middle Ages, which has only been preserved in parts. In addition to the manorial facilities, the parish church of St. Ulrich and the vicarage are among the listed buildings. There are also four residential or town houses in the market, the town hall and the market fountain. Since 2010, the municipality has had modern attractions in the form of three labyrinths, and the labyrinth theme is also reflected in works of art and private facilities. The three labyrinths are a plant labyrinth, a stone labyrinth and an art labyrinth.
