Hartberg is a city and is located in the province of Styria in southeastern Austria. It is the administrative center of the district Hartberg-Fürstenfeld and is located in the judicial district Fürstenfeld. Hartberg is located on the eastern edge of the Styrian Joglland at the transition to the East Styrian Hügelland. The city is located in the east of Styria and lies about 40 km northeast of the provincial capital Graz.

Theater

Two theater groups can be found in Hartberg. These are the Liebhaberbühne Hartberg, which interprets popular works, mainly comedies, and the triBühne Hartberg, which in the last twenty years has performed very demanding plays by Shakespeare, Felix Mitterer, Friedrich Dürrenmatt or Johann Nestroy, among others. The last play was The Feast by Thomas Vinterberg.

Both groups use the Hartberghalle as their primary venue.
