Untersberg: Except for the settlement area, the entire municipal area belongs to the landscape and plant conservation area Untersberg (LSG 51, PSG 1), the nature park Untersberg (NPK 1) along the Zwinkbach (to the Kohlgraben to Marzoll) embedded in it, as well as the European and landscape conservation area Untersberg foreland (FFH AT3227000/ESG 17, LSG 63),[6] along the Saalach River, which belong to a protective network via the Bavarian Biosphere Reserve Berchtesgadener Land (adjacent development zone), which continues into Pongau and Pinzgau and to the northwest, and in the city of Salzburg with the landscape conservation area Leopoldskroner Moos (LSG 47).
