Apfelberg is a village and scattered settlement as well as a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Knittelfeld in the district of Murtal in Styria. 
Apfelberg was an independent municipality until 2014 with 1145 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013), but was merged with the municipality of Knittelfeld as part of the Styrian 
municipality was merged with the municipality of Knittelfeld as part of the Styrian municipal reform, and the new municipality continues to bear the name "Knittelfeld".
Apfelberg lies at the northern foot of the 818 m high Gmeinberg.
