Catholic Parish Church Altmünster: The oldest parish in the area of the current deanery of Gmunden is Altmünster, formerly simply called Münster.
Probably at the beginning of the 8th century, the dukes of Agilolfingen built a monastery on the shores of Lake Traunsee to promote spiritual and material culture and consecrated the church to Benedict, the holy founder of the order. However, the abbey did not last long, as it was probably destroyed by the advancing Magyars in 920. After the battle on the Lechfeld in 955, the fugitive inhabitants returned to their villages, and Münster was rebuilt, not as an abbey, but as a parish. Münster was a large parish and as a mother parish it encompassed the area of its later daughter parishes Traunkirchen, Goisern, Hallstatt, Gmunden with Ohlsdorf and Laakirchen, also Schörfling and St. Georgen im Attergau.
Catholic Filial Church Reindlmühl: The church was built in 1955/56 according to plans by Gottfried Nobl. It is dedicated to St. Joseph. Gottfried Nobl was Linz Cathedral's master builder from 1959 to 2005. In 1977 a chapel was built behind the church as a burial hall.
Oldtimer Museum "Rund ums Rad": This museum shows more than 200 years of history of wire wheels and steel steeds. Numerous historical themed areas, a penny-farthing simulator, the unicycle motorcycle and many other curiosities are shown here. On some vehicles you may take a seat and be photographed with nostalgic garb.
