Wals-Siezenheim is a municipality in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung in the province of Salzburg in Austria. With 13,575 inhabitants, it holds the title of "Austria's largest village", as it is the most populous municipality in Austria not elevated to a market town or city municipality. In 1948, the former municipality of Siezenheim was renamed Wals-Siezenheim. In the same year the awarding of the coat of arms took place. The number of inhabitants increased from about 1,000 to about 11,000 in the period from 1947 to 2001. The village of Wals had previously been part of the then independent municipality of Siezenheim, which also included Liefering and a large part of Taxham (now Salzburg).
