Waidhofen an der Ybbs is a statutory town with 11,092 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in Lower Austria. The history of the town was shaped by its centuries-long position as a center of iron processing. In 2016, Waidhofen a. d. Ybbs was awarded the honorary title of "Reformation City of Europe" by the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe.
