Culture and sights
Tweng St. Cross Catholic Parish Church: a chapel was built in 1664, followed by the laying of the foundation stone for the church in 1665, which was consecrated in 1705 by the Prince-Bishop of Lavant, Johann Sigmund Count von Kuenburg. In 1844, according to Ignaz von Kürsinger, Tweng received its organ (6 stops, 1 manual and pedal), which was made through the active use of Expositus Reisinger and the charitable contributions of the small community. On the case of the organ, however, the year 1889 is marked, which also coincides with the life data of the builder of the instrument, Albert Mauracher. In this instrument, the builder reused three historic stops, according to the design by Johann Ignaz Egedacher. Also typical for the conservative construction of A. Mauracher's conservative construction is the use of slider chests and the pipe foot intonation. The parish has existed since 1891. Georg Lederwasch from Tamsweg created the paintings in the church. The name of the parish church of the Holy Cross changed over the years to "Siebenschmerzengotteshaus".
