Saxen is a market town in Upper Austria in the district of Perg in the Mühlviertel.
Culture and sights
Saxen St. Stephen's Catholic Parish Church: clearing church from the 9th/10th century, Romanesque nave from the 12th century, Gothic choir around 1421 (with 2 original Gothic glass panes) and a side nave completed around 1530.

Strindberg Museum Saxen: The museum is dedicated to the Swedish writer August Strindberg (1849-1912); on display is a documentation of the works written in Saxen during the period 1893-1896, during which the author stayed several times in Saxen and Klam. The Strindberg Museum in Saxen is the only museum outside Sweden dedicated to the world-famous author.
Nature Information Center: Information center operated by the Nature Protection Association Regional Group Machland Nord, which provides information about the fauna and flora of the Machland.
Sturmmühle Cultural Center: is a privately owned mill museum with theme park in Saxen am Klambach south of the exit of the Klamschlucht gorge, which has been in existence since 2012 and also houses a gallery, a literature cabinet and a guest and accommodation facility. The mill, which has been renovated from top to bottom, was first mentioned in documents in the 16th century, was in operation until the last decades of the 20th century and is still functional.
