The municipality of Purkersdorf with 9853 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) is located in the Wienerwald region in the district of St. Pölten-Land directly on the city limits of Vienna at 248 m above sea level.Purkersdorf is located at the confluence of the Gablitzbach into the Wienfluss. The settlement area extends along both waters to the city limits, where it merges with the neighboring municipalities of Vienna, Tullnerbach and Gablitz.
