Persenbeug-Gottsdorf is a market town with 2150 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Melk in Lower Austria. It is located on the left bank of the Danube at an altitude of 222 m a.s.l. The name of the village means "Bösen Beuge" and derives from the dangerous rocks and water eddies in the Strudengau and the Donauschlinge near Ybbs.
