Experience an unforgettable stay amidst vineyards and picturesque landscapes during your vacation in the Wachau, the Nibelungengau and the Krems Valley.
Artstetten Palace looks back on an eventful history. It served as the family seat and summer residence of the imperial family and became the final resting place of heir to the throne Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Duchess Sophie von Hohenberg, both of whom fell victim to a fanatical youth in Sarajevo in 1914.
Since 1982, the castle has housed the Archduke Franz Ferdinand Museum, which offers visitors an insight into the life of the heir to the throne and his family in the permanent exhibition "Archduke Franz Ferdinand's Life and Work". In the periodically changing special theme, a main topic from the time of the heir to the throne is taken up and presented to the visitor.
Artstetten Palace also has a lot to offer for the little ones, such as special "children's tours" for school classes or children's riddle rallies through the museum and the extensive palace park.
Some news await you, for example: The new book about the castle - with partly previously unpublished documents!
