Leiben is a market town with 1326 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Melk in Lower Austria. Leiben is located on the southern edge of the Waldviertel in the valley of the Weitenbach in Lower Austria.

Culture and sights

    Castle ruins Weitenegg: The extensive castle complex in east-west direction is mentioned in documents in 1108. The striking keep was erected in the 12th century and raised by 2 floors in the late Middle Ages. Since the middle of the 18th century the castle has been left to decay.
