Kolsassberg is a municipality in the Tyrolean lowlands with 833 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Hall in Tirol. Kolsassberg lies between 700 and 906 m, south of the Inn River on the western slope of the Weerbachtal, in the Lower Inn Valley, between Innsbruck and the Zillertal.

Castle ruins of Alt- and Neurettenberg[5]: Of the former Neurettenberg Castle, only the defensive wall and corner towers remain, as the remaining material was used to rebuild the Watten church in 1810. The coat of arms of Kolsassberg, like that of Kolsass, is based on that of the former owner of this castle and shows two crossed dragon heads on a red background.
