Auersthal is located in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria, about ten kilometers east of Wolkersdorf. Auersthal is a market town in Lower Austria, in the district of Gänserndorf.
In the course of Lower Austria's history, Auersthal was founded around 1050 as part of a wave of settlers from Bavaria. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1140 as "Urolfstal".
