Waldhausen im Strudengau is a market town in the district of Perg in the Lower Mühlviertel in Upper Austria with 2853 inhabitants. The competent district court
of the municipality, which has been part of the judicial district of Perg since 2003 (previously part of the former judicial district of Grein), is located in Perg. Waldhausen im Strudengau, the
easternmost municipality in Upper Austria, on the border with the Lower Austrian Waldviertel, lies at an altitude of 470 m in the Mühlviertel.
Originally located in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria, the village has belonged to the Duchy of Austria since the 12th century. Since 1490 it has been part of the principality of
Austria ob der Enns.
Culture and sights
Former Waldhausen Abbey: established in 1147, abolished by Leopold II in 1792.
Waldhausen collegiate church: built in 1647-1680 in early baroque style under master builder Carlo Canevale, impressive church with stucco and frescoes,
light-flooded church interior with stucco and frescoes; from 1669 there is a 19 m high high altar in black and gold by the master carpenter Paul
Deniffl from Passau. The church houses the so-called Waldhausen mummies, which are not open to the public.

Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition: The 2002 Provincial Exhibition took place in Waldhausen Abbey from May 1 to November 3, 2002 under the motto "Celebrate festivals".
