Waldenstein is a municipality with 1174 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Gmünd in Lower Austria.

Culture and sights

    Catholic parish church Waldenstein hl. Michael: The church is a pilgrimage church since 1837 with the statue of the Virgin Mary with the hoe.
    In the Venusberg parish there is an early medieval quarry.
    Northwest of the Grünbach cadastral parish there is a medieval house hill with a ring wall made of granite blocks.
    The local chapels of Albrechts and Groß-Höbarten date from the 18th century, those of Groß-Neusiedl and Grünbach from the 19th century and those of Klein-Ruprechts from the beginning of the 20th century.
