Schönbach was already a place of pilgrimage in the 15th century and in the 18th century there was a Hieronymitan monastery here. Worth seeing is the Gothic church with three wood-carved winged altars, the statue of grace "Maria Rast" and a crucifix with real hair and a real crown of thorns.

Schönbach offers many attractions to nature lovers and friends of hiking. The natural monument "Lohnbachfall" develops its full wild-romantic side after the snow melts or after rain.
