Rappottenstein is a market town with 1745 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Zwettl in northwestern Lower Austria, the so-called Waldviertel.The market town of Rappottenstein forms with the municipalities of Arbesbach, Groß Gerungs, Langschlag and Altmelon, the so-called Waldviertler Hochland, which includes the westernmost part of the district of Zwettl.
