Schachendorf, Croatian ?ajta, Hungarian Csajta, is a bilingual municipality in the district of Oberwart in Burgenland in Austria. The proportion of 
Burgenland Croats make up 73% of the total population, with 20% describing themselves as German-speaking. Burgenland Hungarians make up 3% of the population. 
The municipality is located in southern Burgenland, halfway between Oberwart and Szombathely. The first documentary mention of the village of Schachendorf dates back to 
from a document dating back to 1374, in which it is called Cacha.
