Kohfidisch (Hungarian Gyep?füzes, Croatian Gornji Fideš, Romani Fidescha) is a market town with 1437 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in Burgenland in the district of Oberwart in Austria.
The Hungarian place name of the municipality refers to the importance of the village as part of the Hungarian border guard Gyep? in the Middle Ages. Kohfidisch is one of eight nature park communities
in the Weinidylle Nature Park. The municipality is located in southern Burgenland, around twenty kilometers from Oberwart, Güssing and Szombathely (Hungary).
Archaeological finds provide evidence of human building and settlement activity in the lower Pinka Valley around 7,500 years ago. Later, during the Roman Empire, the area was part of the province of
Pannonia superior. Like the whole of Burgenland, the village belonged to Hungary (German West Hungary) until 1920/21.
