Sautens is a municipality in the district of Imst (judicial district of Silz) in Tyrol in Austria with 1632 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022). Sautens is located at the entrance of the Ötztal, on two broad, postglacial mud cones of the Lehn- and the Schoadlerbach.
Culture and sights
Old parish church: built in 1517 and consecrated in honor of St. Wolfgang and St. Oswald, enlarged twice, has served profane purposes since the consecration of the new parish church (1831 in the style of late classicism)
After the establishment of the curacy of Ötz, Sautens became a branch of the same in 1646.

Irregularly, a "Maschgarade" takes place during carnival, organized by the Sautner Maschgarar-Verein. The highlight is the Flitschelarlauf, in which selected actors slip into a costume weighing up to 30 kg, made from the tops of corn cobs ("Flitschenknöpfe").
