Culture and sights
Catholic parish church Lochau hl. Franz Xaver: In the original branch of Bregenz, a Xaverius chapel stood here since 1707. The present church was built in 1844. In 1970 an exterior and in 1972/1973 an interior restoration took place.
Castle Ruin (Alt-Hofen): This castle ruin is located northeast of the village - on the hillside, above Hofen Castle.
Hofen Castle (Neu-Hofen). This second important Renaissance building in Vorarlberg (next to the Hohenems Palace) was built under the regency of Hans Gaudenz von Raitenau (Councilor and Bailiff of Augsburg, Bailiff of the dominions of Bregenz and Hohenegg, Bregenz Oberstadthauptmann, Colonel over the Tyrolean Regiment, Imperial Councilor and Lord Chamberlain) in 1584/1585. The difference between these two important buildings of the Middle Ages is already clear from the designation "castle" (Hofen) and "palace" (Hohenems). The unobtrusive palace building can be regarded in its topographical arrangement as an overall picture of the medieval architecture of Vorarlberg.
Ansitz Wellenstein: This estate was built in 1555-1559 halfway between the Bregenzer Klause and Lochau on a slope. In 1965 the building was renovated and in 1982/83 a general renovation took place. The building is a two-story rectangular structure under a gable roof - at the NE corner there is a three-story square tower with a bell-shaped curved dome (welsche Haube).
Seehotel am Kaiserstrand, Villa Mauthe, Villa Gravenreuth, Altes Schulhüsle, Gasthaus zum Adler, Klausturm.
Wellensteinhöhle, Klause, Klausberg, Neue Schanze and St. Magdalena Chapel.
