Liebenau is a market town in the Lower Mühlviertel in the district of Freistadt in Upper Austria. 

Culture and sights

    Catholic parish church Liebenau hl. Josef: The church was built in 1754/1755 and extended to a six-bay nave in 1833. The church has vault paintings in the nave and stained glass in the choir. The high altar dates from 1887, while the side altars from around 1680 are older. The parapet organ was built by Leopold Breinbauer in 1893/1894.
    Local chapel Schöneben: The mighty chapel from 1904 has a pointed barrel vault, an indented choir and a ridge turret.
    Tannermoor: The highest forest moor in Austria.
