As of 1.1.2015, the new market town of Aflenz was created from the two municipalities of Aflenz Kurort and Aflenz-Land as a result of the structural reform of the province of Styria.

The market town of Aflenz with its districts Aflenz Kurort, Jauring, Feistring, Tutschach, Dörflach, Draiach, Graßnitz, Döllach, Seebach and Thullin is located in a particularly scenic part of Upper Styria, idyllically nestled in the middle of the Hochschwab South region.

Aflenz offers a wide range of cultural, leisure, sports, spa and recreational activities and is particularly favored climatically due to its protected location.
