Lackenbach (Hungarian Lakompak, Croatian Lakimpuh) is a market town with 1160 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in the district of Oberpullendorf in Burgenland in Austria.
The municipality is located in central Burgenland. Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area surrounding the Celtic hilltop settlement of Burg
on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg. Later, under the Romans, today's Lackenbach was part of the province of Pannonia. On November 7, 2012, Lackenbach was elevated to a market town.
