Kobersdorf (Hungarian Kabold, Croatian Kobrštof) is a market town with 1893 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in Burgenland in the district of
Oberpullendorf in Austria. The municipality lies at the foot of the Pauliberges, the youngest extinct volcano in Austria, in the Schwarzenbachtal valley
in central Burgenland. Parts of the municipality belong to the Landseer Berge Nature Park. Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic
kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area surrounding the Celtic hilltop settlement of Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg. Later, under the Romans
today's Kobersdorf lay in the province of Pannonia. Like the whole of Burgenland, the village belonged to Hungary (German West Hungary) until 1920/21.
