Alpineum: In the course of the renovation of the Amtshaus, the exhibition house Alpineum was added in 1998 [20] and opened with the beginning of the Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition 1998 "Land of Hammers - Home of the Eisenwurzen". The provincial exhibition brought 18,000 visitors to the Alpineum and to the "Flötzersteig" theme trail. In 2000, the Alpineum successfully advanced to the final round for the "European Museum Award". The museum describes itself as a mountain world experience museum. The exhibition focuses on the history of timber extraction and the lumberjacks in the Stoder Valley (On the Timber Road to the Iron Road), the local development of skiing from the first skiing competition in 1912, the development of materials in skiing to the local skiing greats Johann Kniewasser and Hannes Trinkl, as well as the history of mountaineering in the Stoder Valley and the development history of the Spitzmauer and Großer Priel. In addition to changing special exhibitions, the museum also surprises visitors with a small collection of paintings that Edward Theodore Compton painted of the surrounding mountain world during his longer stays in the Stoder Valley starting in 1900.
In 1998, the pilot project "ÖKO-Audit" was started in cooperation with the environmental consultancy Kirchdorf, with which the municipality commits itself to environmentally conscious actions in all areas of public service. Environmental guidelines were drawn up, which are to be implemented in the coming years.
